NEVER BEFORE BUT DEFINITELY AGAIN.
Arrived home from the show last night and went straight...
.... to bed and stayed there until a quarter to two this afternoon. It was the only way I stood any chance of being able to speak on the radio tonight and then go on to the team do. There was talk of the do being cancelled if I didn't go, silly I know but the team are such a team that they probably would do exactly that. I did remonstrate it had all been paid for in advance and that they wouldn't be able to reschedule but still hey seemed determined. So, be there I will, if it's the last thing I do - which it might.
Here's the mad thing about this week.... I have spent three days alcohol free, fag free - only consuming things that are super good for a person and eventhough I still feel like crap, in a way, I've never felt better. My skin is smooth and moist, there are even signs of some youthfull elasticity returning last seen pre TFI FRIDAY. I can see more clearly, my mind is sharper, I even feel a little more me. Maybe this illness thing is no bad thing at the right time.
I also haven't said a word to anyone for sixteen hours. Much communication has taken place but either by note, text or charades. It all seemed to be so much more efficient - perhaps this is the way forward.
So roll on five o'clock and let's hope I have what it takes to do the bizz. And then roll on the do... a wine tasting followed by dinner and then a q and a session which should turn me swiftly back to the fuzzy headed, bleary eyed, dry skinned chancer that rolls the right way with all the punches and thanks heaven for his luck every single day.

If I may offer advise, I had the bug last week, burning eyes, aches , sweats ,a throat full of razor blades and a strangley swollen uvula ( spell!). 2 days in bed didnt help so stuggled back to work on wednesday where my saviour, the chef here at work, made me a flask of hot water, fresh ginger, local honey and fresh lemon juice. I drank about 3 pints of it and it was magical. Throat gone, aches gone and a bounce back in my step.

I'm going to have satsumas on toast with an orange omlette, washed down with an Echinacea shake for tea tonight, then, a hot lavender bath and as much bloomin' sleep as I can get (not much, knowing my track record).

Last day at work for me too, until 7th - yippee!
Got home last night and saw the mince pies my daughter had made - oh dear is all I can say - bless, she tried - so I knocked out 3 dozen, gave some to my neighbour and brought the rest into work.
No-one's touched them yet - are they politely waiting for me to have one? OR do they look inedible? Ah well - here goes, I'm jumping in...

Chris you were on top form last night despite the manflu. The funny bits were the odd inputs every now and then of Queen's the show must go on - I kept wanting to hear the rest.

I have been told to leave work at 2.30 - yippee! Need to buy something to wear tonight - off out for a curry with a friend. He and I always have a really good laugh - so looking forward to it lots!
I'm still playing Christmas music and happily - the folks in my office are singing along!
Just had to pop out to get lunch (and have a quick squizz for something to wear) and am astounded at how rude people are! It's supposed to be the season of goodwill; I patiently waited for someone to pull out of their parking space, so I could take it, when a woman (yes, I took a good look at her, so I could bash her with my basket) drove in front of me and took the space! Then, as I needed cash for tonight, I waited patiently for an ATM, only to have someone push in front of me, as I was making way for the lady using it to manoevre her trolley out of the way! Soooo rude!!!
I took a deep breath - threw a filthy look (and believe me it's awful) and reminded myself that it's a wonderful time of year!!!
Righty ho (ho ho) - best finish off my stuff so I can get off early!

just looking at the drivetime photo - I assume this is the xmas do - in which case why does Chris have his other half with him but no one else does???
This really is confusing the annual debate about whether other halves should go to xmas do's etc.
