HOT AND NOT THAT BOTHERED.

Chris Evans | 16:45 UK time, Friday, 31 August 2007

So here's the scoop, when I'm in the sauna...

... there's this guy, who takes a look in and if I or anyone else is in there, he doesn't come in. When there's no one in there, he does go in. What's all that about ?

And then there's another guy, who takes a look to see if anyone's in there and only goes in if there is !

I don't know if saunas do you any good but I've been having them for years and considering what I've put my body through I''m doing ok, so there must be something in them.

I'm thinking about buying a new type for at home, a one person affair that does you from the inside out, a little like a microwave, sounds dodgy I know but apparently they're the dogs and you can have a cd fitted. Anyone heard of them.

Thanks for your help earlier on in the week, re the great global warming swindle. You nkow i love you all.

May go gliding this weekend, never done it before.

I prefer steam rooms. I remember once a guy asking the time in one I was sitting in. Who the heck can see a watch. The only thing is though. I worry the door gets stuck and I can't get out ... Steamed Plum Pudding.

    Argh...

    Hi Chris,

I'm afraid I'm like the bloke you mentioned, i wouldn't go in the sauna if someone else was in there, just bacause I wouldn't want to talk to anyone! I know I'm a miserable cow aren't I?!

Been to Tesco (other supermarches available) got all my detox stuff, got a feeling i'm going to get up tomorrow and make a cup of tea without thinking. I'll let you know if i suddenly start to look really young....

Strange question but does anyone know where you can buy (really cheap) two acorn caps for a staircase? Don't ask why, long story.

Bought Hairspray CD today, we love it! Christopher Walken is just the bees knees, I had tears in my eyes when he sang to John Travolta!

    Have a good one,

Go gliding - you`ll love it... But there are gliders and there are gliders. I recon I know where you may be going and them are good gliders, K-13s, a little old, but tuff as boots. Just like the Piper they are a standard trainer. I personaly would opt for a modern glass kit. The performance is so much better plus you can do super aerobatics in them. What ever you do you will be hooked. Aero tow or winch, I`d opt for the aero tow, the winch is like a super elivator but you will only get to angles one.

And Lasham do a nice rock cake with your cuppa.

Tried ARF again. Is it me or?!!

    Hey Chris!
First time on the blog but HAD to write to warn you off the infra red sauna. I've just got back from an amazing detox yoga thingy in Thailand and it involved going in one of the microwave sauna's you mentioned. Although many people say they're amazing (and apparantly they burn off loads of calories) it sent my blood pressure doolally and after fainting and two days of headaches, I finally became half normal after some acupuncuture.
So... give it a try elsewhere before buying one for your house...that's all I'm saying.

He is now 35 times more likely to die whilst riding in the rural area rather than driving a car. Even if it is a sports car full of flowers!! The point is, would he like to help promote a police casualty reduction initiative called 'BikeSafe' ? BikeSafe takes riders from passing their test to another level. Police riders can demonstrate the issues, why there is a need to improve and how to do it with the police system of riding 'Road Craft' Road management skills are assential for todays bikes and roads. I run workshops in N. Wales travelling around the Snowdon National Park. There are other areas but if Chris would like to attend a workshop here or anywhere in the UK i woiuld love to provide one free. The publicity would of course help to promote the facility. As a time served traffic cop I know that my colleagues just don't want to knock on doors and were passionate about our riding. SO HOW ABOUT IT?

Hi everyone! Haven't read comment yet will do mthat later tonight, while that awful BB comes to and end. Please no more!

I am knitting like crazy still, really wanting to get selling some soon. So if you decide you want to give a loved one a knitted handbag contact me via my blog! HEHE cheeky aren't I! Anyway just had to order some more wool for my 'Giles' scarf. Then it will be (touchwood)finished. Have got to do a couple more bags, some berets and then doing some childrens hats for my friends babies chrissie pressies. Then I've got a couple of places and people who I would like to show them to try and get some buyers, if not I will be doing all the shows next year.

Not up too much this weekend.Knitting I suppose. I am having the need to go to Southwold. I get the need every so often. If only you could still get the trains to all these places. A train that could go from Sheringham all the way down to... um I don't know, Felixstowe? And I feel we need trams in Norwich and the suburbs. In Manchester they are great and so handy! Well they are my ideas anyway.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Oh getting the benefit sorted. I have an appeal date for 17th Sept, have spoken to Dr Ian Gibson (an MP in the area who has an interest in m.e), going to Citizens Advice and spoken to an m.e charity. We will get this sorted! Love Missy xxx

    Aah, the sauna.

I really hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but I am probably the proudest member of the 'I've Shared A Sauna With CLP' club.

And, as a result of our occasional meetings, I have become rather partial to a sweat-fest after a swim or gym session.

    For that, I thank you.

Mind you, I'm not keen on a busy sauna. It loses the tranquility that is key to the enjoyment.

This weekend sees father of MfR and I heading to SW6 on Saturday and gym/swim/sauna type stuff on Sunday, while next weekend we'll shall be heading back to The M for my birthday lunch.

    And I ain't driving.

    Have a great weekend.

Well, I'm v v v happy to report that the project that has prevented me from blogging this week finally went live today. I got back from work at midnight tonight and can actually say that the first night was a HUGE success! A failure rate of 2% on the first night is really good going.

I'm feeling good and celebrating with a glass of bubbly!

However, as I have to work tomorrow, I am taking myself off to bed now!

Hope you're all well, I will try to catch up with your postings at some point over the weekend.

    Have a GREAT one!

I looked at a new house last year and in the Master Bedroom en-suite was a TWO-PERSON steam shower, massage jets & get this, a telephone and a TV - all water proof - I kid you not. The guy said the whole cubilcle was worth 10 g's but I tell you, it was all I could talk about, never mind the beautiful house.

    sauna's
they are a strange thing all up.
when guys go for a wee if the is a free space one up we would rather go there.
rather than stand next to the other person.
so when you throw a sauna in, 5 guys on little benches with nothing on, in a garden shed with a indoor fire.
It will put some people on edge.
and as some of the benches are higher than others the thought of some big hairy man sitting behind you with no pants on. is not nice.
but as you look through the window you cant see up high.
so you dont know they are there,

And as for one at home would not be able to relax just in case some one locks the door from the out side and turn it right up.
yes i know to many films.
    but you never know.

Last night chatting to a bouncer about the appearance of Bernard Manning in January. I guess it was one of his final performances. Apparantley his driver drove him from Manchester to Bournemouth and straight back after the show. I was there, although the sound was poor, his voice weak and I missed most of the punch lines. I won't tell you how he opened the show though as it is politically incorrect. Thats what I loved about him.

    What a day.

Had a proper father & son day yesterday.

No agenda other than putting the football world to rights and chatting about old times.

We had a pint in the pub that dad would always go to pre-match and then we headed for the Cottage.

After the first half I thought that we were going to get stuffed. Spurs, while not having huge amounts of possession, looked a class above our disorganised mob. My real worry was that dad would come away having seen a poor performance from the club we have both followed all our lives.

I tried to put a positive spin on things. We were sitting right behind the goal that Fulham would be attacking in the second half, so I said, ''Don't worry, at least we'll have the best view of the winning goal''. No, I didn't really believe it either.

Things got worse as the second half kicked off and 4,5 or even 6 Spurs goals looked likely.

And then, things took a surprise twist.

At 3-1 and seemingly out of the game, we decided to roll our sleeves up and have a go. If you didn't see the highlights, we pulled a lucky goal back and went on to score a fabulous equaliser in the dying seconds. The place erupted and I felt so happy that we had seen such a good game with a better than likely result.

I vividly remember the days when I was young and we used to cheer the team on in an almost empty stadium on freezing January Saturdays, we'll both remember cheering the team on in a packed house on a balmy September Saturday in 2007.

If you can and it is appropriate, take your dad to a football match. You'll both love it.

    Peace & love

I don't trust them microwaves. Ever since my mother Renee nearly nuked all me internal organs by givin' me a mince pie that she'd done on full power for 6 minutes. Me tongue was the size of me pillow and I was talkin' like Roy Hattersley for 5 days afterwards. Jaysus.

And then there's carnage that was the christmas pudding tragedy when she nuked it, forgettin' she'd splattered it liberally with 5ps to surprise the granddaughters.

Thinkin' we had a sniper, we all immediately assumed the brace position, the Dear Departed Father Eric welted his head on the turkey plate and needed stitches, the granddaughters were all roarin' an' cryin', and the dog never fully recovered.
