A TALE OF ONE CONCOURSE - 16TH APRIL 2011

Post categories:

Lucy BA Lucy BA | 15:44 UK time, Wednesday, 20 April 2011

This week's show drawing from James Hood is called 'A Tale of One Concourse' and is based on the introduction to 'A Tale of Two Cities' by Charles Dickens.

Ìý

"It was big in the railway station. It was small in the railway station.

Ìý

There were a train with no chin and a vagrant who was turf'd of face on the platform. McGregor the writing ghost rose undramatically from Sexy the Steam Engine's hat and Stumpy Jimmy, the watchdog, despoiled the shining engine by firing his blood on Sexy's rear end.

Ìý

And it came to pass that a single tuppenny bit was left on the platform by a man not known to Buckules the short vagrant, who wanted to take the coin that lay before him, and buy sweets or whatever."

SUMMER MADNESS - 9TH APRIL 2011

Post categories:

Lucy BA Lucy BA | 14:22 UK time, Friday, 15 April 2011

Thanks again to for providing this brilliant picture summery of last week's show.

Ìý

This week's picture is of the summer madness that goes on in London High street. Adam bumps into Kofi Annan as he does a spot of shopping and Adam can't help noticing Kofi's shorts. Joe uses Ian Ogilvy's newly vandalised TV shop to eye up a full lady and Mr Buxton Snr leers partially out of view. Kofi's got his sister's knickers stuck to his chest. Dirty.

TEXT THE NATION - BIRTHDAY FLIP-OUTS

Post categories: ,Ìý

Lucy BA Lucy BA | 16:05 UK time, Thursday, 14 April 2011

Last week's Text The Nation was about your birthday flipouts, tantrums and times when things didn't quite go how you'd hoped. You can still get involved and send your stories to adamandjoe.6music@bbc.co.uk for Retro Text The Nation on this Saturday's show.

Ìý

Thanks to Andy from Preston for owning up to this birthday tantrum after losing out to his friend on a round of musical chairs. He says:

Ìý

" Here is an audio clip pulled from a video of me ruining my sister Victoria's seventh birthday... this is the end of a game of musical chairs, you can hear my mum announcing that our friend Claire had won, and me being a bad loser and the only other remaining contestent, not to mention slightly jealous of all the attention lavished on Vic for her birthday, having a paddy and storming off. I was 8 then, and I'm 30 now but it still embarasses me... Enjoy! "

Lucy BA Lucy BA | 11:49 UK time, Friday, 8 April 2011

Thanks to James Hood for this wonderful picture summary of the show from last Saturday. He says:

Ìý

"It includes Herschel 36, Eta Carinae (both accurate as I looked them up online), Julia 19, Michael Nonce Face 69,000 and Brian Cox as a thick lipped moon.

Ìý

Also put in Bowie as per the Nite Flights video, Adam and his dripping pump and Joe as he'd rather I drew him - with chin and muscles."
