Blog squadron, we need your help. Song Wars is long overdue an outing, so with that in mind, perhaps you could suggest a theme for Adam and Joe to tackle? We're after ideas for a theme or lyrics, or a musical style - the more instructions the better really. Themes to avoid - asking them to write songs about each other and anything that uses the music or lyrics from a real song. Thanks for your help and watch this space to see if we take on any of your ideas.

Phew - we're nearly there. The final week of Classic Song Wars allows the boys the luxury of picking their wild card tunes - those that defied categorising or were simply too powerful to be constrained by the format of Song Wars. As ever, the podcast has the tears of laughter and joy stories behind the making of these magical musical moments. And who wouldn't want to know how songs about flu and stumbling on the radio came about? Plus as a bonus there's a previously unreleased track from Dr Buckles as radio pirates meet the cuddly vermin in Ratatouille.

On 29th August, Adam and Joe will be storming the Big British Castle, reporting for regular radio and podcast duties. Inevitably, the world's favourite feature* is set to return, so consider this a call to arms for Text The Nation. What's been happening to you over the summer? Any embarrassing/funny/odd situations you'd like to share? Previous topics have included disgusting personal habits, ways you make mundane tasks more enjoyable and who could forget song lyrics you personalise (remember Bon Jovi's You Give Cats a Bad Name?).

The penultimate Songs Wars Classics focuses on the Pink Tops. There are many weekly and monthly magazines that focus on fashion, celebrities and reader stories - so the fact that we used Grazia for inspiration was just the luck of the draw. The tough rules of Song Wars stated the lyrical content had to come directly from the current issue of said magazine. Get the podcast to see which songs triumphed and if you agree!

When the Quantum of Solace was released in October 2008, guess who was first off the blocks with a theme tune? Why the Bond team overlooked these songs to open and close the film is beyond me.
