Nicholas Prettejohn appointed Â鶹Éç Trustee

Nicholas Prettejohn has been appointed as a Â鶹Éç Trustee by the Privy Council.

Nicholas is currently an Independent Director of the Prudential Regulation Authority. He was Chief Executive of Lloyds of London, and Chief Executive of Prudential UK and Europe.

He takes up the role on 1 January 2014 for a four year term.

Lord Patten, Chairman of the Â鶹Éç Trust, said: "Nicholas will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Trust in an area that is hugely important to licence fee payers and has been constantly in the headlines in recent months – ensuring value for money at the Â鶹Éç. He is a highly respected figure within the financial sector and also has a real pedigree in the arts. I look forward to working with him."

Nicholas Prettejohn was Director of Strategy at NFC plc, an international transportation company, before joining Lloyds of London in 1995 as Head of Strategy. At Lloyds, he became Managing Director of the Business Development Unit, and then Chief Executive between 1999 and 2005.

From 2006 - 2009, he was Chief Executive of Prudential UK & Europe. He has held Non-Executive roles at Legal and General and Brit Insurance.

Nicholas is currently Chair of the Britten-Pears Foundation and Chairman of the Royal Northern College of Music.

Appointments to the Â鶹Éç Trust are made by the Privy Council on the recommendation of UK Government ministers, and regulated by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments. Nicholas Prettejohn’s term on the Â鶹Éç Trust will run for four years until 31 December 2017.
