The Government today announced that Anthony Fry has been appointed a 麻豆社 Trustee and that Jeremy Peat has been reappointed 麻豆社 National Trustee for Scotland.

Anthony Fry, an investment banker who has specialised in media markets, takes up his appointment on November 1.

Sir Michael Lyons, Chairman of the 麻豆社 Trust, said:

"I am pleased to welcome Anthony Fry to the 麻豆社 Trust and the expert knowledge he brings of commercial media markets. To ensure the 麻豆社 delivers its best to the licence fee paying public, the Trust needs to understand the commercial sectors in which the 麻豆社 operates and the full impact of its activities. Anthony Fry will make a strong contribution to our work."

Anthony Fry said:

"I hope that my long and ongoing experience advising media corporations around the world will provide a valuable and different perspective to the 麻豆社 Trust, as will my various roles within both the private and the not for profit sectors."

Anthony Fry is replacing Dermot Gleeson who retires from the Board on October 31 after serving eight years as both a Governor and Trustee.

Sir Michael Lyons said:

"It has been a personal pleasure to work alongside Dermot for the last 18 months of his eight years at the 麻豆社. On behalf of everyone who has benefited from his wise counsel and commitment to helping the 麻豆社 deliver the best in public service broadcasting, I express heartfelt thanks and good wishes for the future. I am delighted that Jeremy Peat has been reappointed to continue his work on behalf of all UK licence fee payers, and to give a voice in particular to those in Scotland."

Jeremy Peat said:

"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to serve on the 麻豆社 Trust for a further two years and to represent the interests of licence fee payers. With colleagues on the Audience Council for Scotland, I will continue to promote the interests of 麻豆社 audiences in Scotland."
