Dina Omar is an Egyptian cardiologist who spent the last week treating protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square.
She had been working in Lebanon before the protests, but as soon as she heard about the unrest in Cairo she rushed home.
Her family had not wanted Dina to go to the square, but she managed to persuade them that she and her sister ought to go to give blood.
Dina took herself to a makeshift field hospital in Tahrir Square, where she offered her medical skills and soon found herself dodging bullets and tending to the injured.
Dina Omar spoke to Outlook's Jo Fidgen and described her experience treating injured protesters on the street at the heart of the Egyptian peoples' 'popular protest.'
