It seems that comments posted on the ''send a comment section of this blog - don''t appear. We''ll try to get this sorted out as soon as possible. But thanks for commenting on FB, emailing WHYS, calling, tweeting and posting on the original blog. That''s all for now - Claudia

Mohsin emailed WHYS to make these 3 points: 1) The high commissioner of Pakistan is wrong. 2) The blasphemy law is not against minorities, it protects the respect of all the prophets including Jesus. 3) The murder is a crime and should not be justified but Taseer was not seen as a good person and was disliked by many - that is why people are mistakenly celebrating

Barbara in Indianapolis emailed WHYS: Someone who kills for speaking against an idea is a criminal, pure and simple.

Steve on FB: I am tired of hearing radicals use the "it's our culture" excuse. If you support the murder of a man like this, no God is on your side.

Nshom a Cameroonian on FB: Do the defenders of death for blasphemy think Allah is so weak that He can not fight his own battles?

  6. Comment sent via YOURSAY

Ray in Colorado emailed WHYS: If there is a law against blasphemy, then the governor should have been tried in a court of law. If we allow society to break down when one person disagrees with another, we return to the Dark Ages.

Chad in Seattle emails WHYS: I am offended to my soul that anyone would believe that killing others is justified for any reason. Allah did not approve of this killing. It took a man to do the deed. A blind man, being supported by the blind.

Amro emailed WHYS: As an American-Muslim, originally from Egypt and married to a Pakistani - I am very involved in both countries cultures. What has happened in Pakistan is wrong. This goes back to a group of so called Muslims taking the words of Allah the wrong way and forcing everyone to adhere to what they believe is correct.

William on FB: If they think people with other views should be killed, they should pray to their god to feed, house, and medicate them next time there is a flood. Clearly there is nothing in this part of the world worth the loss of a single American Soldier.

John on FB: Bush believed "God told him" to attack Iraq and Afghanistan. Christian or Muslim extremists - no difference except that Christians especially from the US have more firepower and the ability to kill more people.

Vojtin on FB: I'm sick of that man speaking on air saying that the Governor speaking freely and believing in the right of free speech deserves to die! He was a typical extremist.

Ann from Virginia called WHYS - It's immoral that people are rejoicing over the killing of a man. That their God has to be appeased with murder - is no different to human sacrifice. The world has moved on from practices like that.

@麻豆社_whys I think it is absurd to believe that The Prophet would condone this violent assassination.

Suresh on the blog: The idea that education will somehow "solve" these issues must be dismissed. The fact is, Islamic societies have never given equality to minorities or space to dissenters, blasphemers or apostates.

Tim in Cyprus emails this question: To those who have expressed support for this killing. Does this mean that there is absolutely no free speech under Islam?

  17. Comment sent via YOURSAY

Shannon in Ohio emails: Why should westerners like me who pay our taxes toward aid to Pakistan continue to support a system that is full of graft and hates the givers?

  18. Comment sent via Twitter

@麻豆社_WHYS yes its sad but pakistan could be another afghanistan soon

  19. Comment sent via MSGBOARD

Muhammed in Karachi on 'the news.com.pk': Taseer was a bad name for not only the Governorship but as a Muslim too. He crossed the limit in his arrogance and stupidity and rightfully deserved the punishment.

  20. Comment sent via YOURSAY

Farah in London tweets: There is something wrong with a country where a man can feel justified to take life based on religious belief.

  21. Comment sent via BLOG

Alan in Arizona on the blog: As for the assassin, you can't be a hero if your not honourable. It's not honourable to kill the person your are meant to protect. No better than a mugger in an alley!

Steve emails WHYS: Ah Muslims. Always ready to party like its 1099. These are our 'partners' in the war on terror. Its utterly absurd that we're propping up a country with such backwards, draconian laws.

  24. Comment sent via MSGBOARD

Salik on Siasai.pk forum: Salman Taseer should have learnt to shut his big mouth regarding sensitive issues.... If such people cannot be brought to book, people like Mr. Qadri will keep on taking matters into their own hands.

  25. Comment sent via MSGBOARD

Faqira on Siasai.pk forum: The Governor Punjab should NOT talk about these sensitive issues in public. Politicians should know how and when to use political language. You can not offend others.

  26. Comment sent via MSGBOARD

Lovely PK on Siasai.pk forum: Another doom day in Pakistani History. This just shows the tolerance level of our People.
