The Revd Evelyn Davies

On this week's All Things Considered (Sunday 30 March at 8.31am, repeated on Wednesday 2 April at 6.32pm), there's another chance to hear Roy Jenkins interview with the Revd Evelyn Davies.

Evelyn has recently retired as Vicar of Aberdaron on the Lleyn Peninsular after seven years in the job, but in that comparatively short time she has achieved much.

When Evelyn came to Aberdaron, it was as a result of a dream; that she should go to lead the restoration of the run-down church of St Hywyn. £350,000's worth of fundraising effort later, that mission has been accomplished.

One of her predecessors was the poet and priest RS Thomas, and during the programme we hear of the way in which Evelyn was inspired by his writing Roy discusses her unshakeable faith in the face of much personal suffering and loss.

We hear how dreams - it appears - have guided her throughout her life, during which she has also been a counsellor to cancer sufferers.
