Walking in the steps of Christ

Roy Jenkins' guest for the Easter edition of All Things Considered (Sunday 23 March at 8.31am, repeated Wednesday 26 March at 6.32pm) is Antoine Rutayisire who lived through the Rwandan genocide of 1994.

Up to a million of his fellow Tutsis and moderate Hutus were murdered.

He had long had reason to hate his Hutu neighbours - his father had been killed in a massacre when he was a child.

But Antoine, who had been a teacher and lecturer, chose a different way, and for the past six years this former student of Bangor University has been vice chair of his country's National Unity and Reconciliation Commission. This is his powerful story.
