Aberfan remembered

On All Things Considered this week (Sunday 6 January, 8.31am, repeated Wednesday 9 January, 6.32pm) there's another chance to hear a programme first broadcast in 2006 which recently won a Bronze at the Christian Broadcasting Media Awards.

It marks the 40th anniversary of one of the most tragic events in the history of the South Wales coalfield when 144 people, 116 of them children, were killed when a tip of coal waste slid onto Pantglas School in the village of Aberfan.

Roy Jenkins is joined by three people who were touched by the Aberfan disaster in very different ways.
