Chaplain in conflict
This week on All Things Considered (Sunday 22 April at 8.31am, repeated Wednesday 25 April at 6.32pm) as the horror continues in Iraq and the death toll mounts in Afghanistan, what is it like to be living alongside men and women who know that they could be the next target? Roy Jenkins meets a Welsh chaplain who does just that.
We also hear from a Jesuit priest from Central America who has been in Wales for the past few days supporting a campaign to encourage simple living, as a way of helping some of the poorest people in the world.
Father Juan Hernandez Pico, who worked alongside the martyred Archbishop Oscar Romero, is a professor at universities in El Salvador, Nicaragua and Guatemala. But he has also lived among people experiencing great suffering during years of civil war, and he's seen the effects of crushing poverty.
