Exit_International

Exit_International are a Cardiff-based trio featuring two bass guitars and no lead.

Formed from the ashes of Welsh indie/punk bands Midasuno and The Martini Henry Rifles, Exit_International started as purely an experiment to support the legendary Melvins. In the event, they were removed from the bill to make space for a tour support act.

Undeterred, Scott , Fudge and Adam decided to carry on and have made the indie press sit up. "We have taken a very limited musical palette and absolutely run screaming into a burning building with the idea," says Scott. "Less is definitely more in the case of Exit_International."

Eli Janney, the lead singer of one of the influentual indie bands of the last 25 years, Girls Against Boys personally arranged for the noted American indie music journal Alternative Press, to feature the band in early 2010.

They were picked up by London's Undergroove Records and in June 2010 their debut record Sex W/ Strangers EP will be released.

Scott explains his band's sound:m "We make a load of noise - and we take influence from a shared love of Girls Against Boys, Nirvana, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The Pixies, and The Blood Brothers.

"We capitalise on the lack of the good ol' six-string guitar, which seems to have been a key point in the reviews and press we've received thus far."

The band's performances have included performances at Sŵn festival 2009, a headline show for Rock Sound Magazine, an Artrocker Club night, as well as shows alongside The Bronx, Pulled Apart By Horses, The 80's Matchbox B-line Disaster, The Computers, Crime in Stereo, Baddies and The King Blues.
