It is a melting pot of influences and cultures, celebrating dance, music, culture, cuisine and many other aspects of Asian life, but the music side of the event is going from strength to strength.

This year's festival is headlined by Imran Khan with other performers including Jassi Sidhu, H Dhami, Apache Indian, Nafees, Kamal Raja and Desi Nach.

Cardiff Multicultural Mela has been organised by a voluntary committee since 2007. The Mela was founded by Imran Iqbal who has chaired the mela committee since its inception.

As of 2010, it is a not-for-profit event itself which has grown steadily into Wales' largest single day multicultural event attracting over 30,000 visitors in 2010.
