Levente Molnár was born in Gyergyóremete (Transylvania), and later moved to Csíkszereda. From the age of 14 he studied at the singing faculty of the Nagy István School for Music and Fine Arts, with Melinda Mihály. He entered the Singing Faculty of the Music University of Oradea in 2001, studying with Marian Boboia.
In 2003 he joined the Studio of the Hungarian State Opera House, Budapest, and began his operatic career, while continuing to study with Júlia Pászthy, Adrienne Csengery, Anikó Katona, Ionel Pantea, Géza Oberfrank, and Ferenc Nagy.
On 27 January 2006 he made his debut in the title role Don Giovanni, at the Hungarian State Opera House, Budapest, in a gala performance to celebrate Mozart's 250th anniversary. He has also sung this role abroad.
Other roles include Guglielmo (Così fan Tutte), Malatesta (Don Pasquale), and Hungarian roles such as Biberach Bánk bán by Ferenc Erkel; and Bagó János Vitéz by Pongrác Kacsóh.
He is currently performing Silvio Pagliacci and Belcore L'elisir d'amore.
Future roles at the Hungarian State Opera include Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Marcello (La Bohème), Dandini (La Cenerentola) and Onegin from Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.
His interests include animals, the countryside and meditation.
