"It's not so much about collecting, it's more about finding."

Transcript

"I was an addict by the time I was eight. Too young to understand why or even that it would last a lifetime. Bewitched by the sounds, charmed by the solitude, transported to other lands.

These are the sweet tastes of my addiction. And my addiction? I'm a beachcomber.

Defined in the dictionary as a person who lives by collecting jetsam. Well, I don't live by it but I do collect it. But it's not so much about collecting, it's more about finding.

The buzz of finding something new, something different, something evocative. There is no time for small talk only companionable silence because beachcombing is a solitary obsession. The senses are charged, the mind is focussed and the beach is awash with new treasures left by yesterday's high tide. What will the next tide deposit?"
