Clip taken from Doctor Who: Rose, featuring Christopher Ecclestone as the Doctor, Billie Piper as Rose Tyler and Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler.

Rose

Original Â鶹Éç One broadcast: Saturday 26 March 2005
Director: Keith Boak
Starring: Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor

Although it was not the first recording for the revived series of Doctor Who, Working Street in Cardiff city centre was the venue for the first recording for the episode Rose, which would see the TARDIS traveller back on Â鶹Éç television again during 2005.

Three nights of recording were scheduled from Tuesday 20 July 2004, which also saw the first work on the show for Billie Piper and Camille Coduri as Rose Tyler and her mum Jackie.

Working Street featured in sequences of the Auton attack on London shoppers as the clothing store display mannequins sprang to life and embarked on their destructive spree, with sequences on the first night including the stunt sequence with a taxi having its rear window blown out.

Wednesday night found the team also working inside the shopping centre of the Queen's Arcade where Clive, the man behind the Doctor's website, met his fate as Autons poured forth from the shops. The last night saw director Keith Boak's team continuing work on the horrific rampage of the dummies both inside and outside the arcade.

Episode synopsis: Rose

The last thing that Rose Tyler expected on the morning that she set off for her mundane job in a London department store was that by the end of the day she would have been attacked by murderous display mannequins and see her place of work explode. But suddenly she finds herself ensnared in the world of the mysterious Doctor as he battles to prevent the Nestene Consciousness taking control of the Earth through its plastic servants, the Autons.
