Some people think that all babies ever do is eat and sleep. Yeah, and that鈥
Well, they might not be doing back flips, but right from the first moment your baby's equipped with a number of reflexes to help them survive.
If you tickle the palm of the hand, notice what happens, they'll grip onto your fingers. They don't decide to do it, it's an automatic response and try stroking your baby's cheek, they'll turn their head to that side and make little sucking motions with their mouth. That's a reflex that helps them find a breast or a bottle. And the body only produces this reflex in the first few months.
These reflexes which come and go at different times are a sign of healthy brain development. They're just some of the many signs that show there is more going on with your baby than you might think.
