8: The castle in the clouds
Jack continues climbing the beanstalk, going higher and higher. He begins to tire鈥ut then hears the voice of the old man giving him encouragement and the strength to continue.
Eventually Jack makes it to the very top of the beanstalk and emerges into a strange, barren landscape. He finds a path and begins to follow it. In the distance he can see a building - a castle looms up before him.
Teacher Notes
This series can be used to increase pupils' familiarity with a broad range of texts and narratives, including myths, legends and traditional stories and to make connections between these and other stories they are familiar with.
It will also support a broad range of writing objectives.
