6: Gawain returns to Camelot
Sir Bercilak explains that he gave Gawain the nick on his neck because Gawain kept secret the green belt given to him by Lady Bercilak.
Gawain feels humbled and humiliated; he takes the belt with him as a constant reminder of his frailty鈥ut when he arrives back at Camelot the court adopts the green belt as a symbol of honour and courage.

This series can be used to increase pupils' familiarity with a broad range of texts and narratives, including myths, legends and traditional stories and to make connections between these and other stories they are familiar with.
