Leeds sign Huddersfield full-back Connor
Leeds Rhinos have signed full-back Jake Connor from fellow Super League side Huddersfield Giants on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old joins having made a cumulative 100 appearances for the Giants across two spells with the club.
An England international, Connor also spent six seasons with Hull FC, making 142 appearances and winning the Challenge Cup in 2017.
"I nearly joined the Rhinos a few years ago so it feels like things have come full circle,"
"I know I will have people who doubt me, I鈥檓 used that, but I will be working hard to earn the respect of my team-mates and the coaching staff during pre-season, that鈥檚 all that counts."
Connor won five caps under former England head coach Wayne Bennett and was also part of Bennett's Great Britain squad for their tour of New Zealand and Papua New Guinea in 2019.
Giants managing director Richard Thewlis said: "This was understandably a difficult decision to arrive at but we did not feel in a position to extend Jake's contract now beyond the end of next season which was the ask we were faced with.
"We knew there was a suitor at Leeds who would give him the longer term security he wanted, and when they met our terms to leave we were faced with the reality that a move would occur."
