New Salford Red Devils signing Nene MacDonald has played for five clubs in the NRL in Australia and Leigh and Leeds in England

Salford Red Devils have brought in Nene MacDonald from Leeds Rhinos as their first signing for the 2024 season.

MacDonald, who can play as either a centre or a winger, has signed a four-year deal with Salford until the end of 2027.

The Papua New Guinea international, 29, played 20 games for Leeds before he was released from his contract.

Salford finished seventh in the Super League this campaign, two points outside the play-offs.

After playing for five different clubs in Australia's NRL competition, MacDonald moved to England in 2022 to play for Leigh Leopards in the Championship.

He helped them win promotion before his switch to Leeds and now he is set for life at the Salford Community Stadium.

"I am excited to get out there for 2024 and the style of footy Salford play really suits me," MacDonald told

"It's a great team that can push to play in finals and win some trophies."
