Lincoln City have signed Fulham goalkeeper George Wickens for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old England Under-18 international is set to be the Imps' main man between the sticks after signing a four-year contract.

Lincoln recently lost their first-choice keeper Luka Jensen to Championship club Millwall.

Wickens is a product of his boyhood club Fulham, for whom he did not make a senior appearance.

He spent one season on loan at Wealdstone and joined Scottish Premiership side Ross County in January, making 13 appearances.

He made an instant impact with a double penalty save against Celtic at Parkhead and a new Scottish record for number of saves in a match when he racked up 19 against Rangers.

Lincoln head coach Michael Skubala 鈥淕eorge has all the attributes we look for in a goalkeeper and impressed us with his mentality and maturity in the recruitment and interview process.

"George has shown his character with his decision to leave Fulham in order to play regularly and forge his career as a number one goalkeeper.鈥

Director of football Jez George said: 鈥淭o have executed this signing in such a timely manner hopefully evidences our recruitment process and planning.

"It also demonstrates how our model works by us investing a proportion of the transfer fee received for Lukas into such a talented young goalkeeper with huge potential and future asset value."
