Birmingham City sign Charlton Athletic striker May
Birmingham City have completed the signing of Charlton Athletic striker Alfie May for an undisclosed fee.
May, 30, has signed a three-year contract with the relegated League One club to become new Blues boss Chris Davies's third signing.
The former Doncaster Rovers and Cheltenham Town player scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Addicks last season, including 23 in League One, to earn him the third tier's Golden Boot prize.
"It is a good project to be involved in," said May.
"Speaking with the manager and (tecnnical director) Craig Gardner, the journey they want to go on as a club, they shouldn't be in League One.
"It is exciting times. I want to hit the ground running, push on and, hopefully, get promoted."
Blues, relegated from the Championship in May, are hoping for an instant return to the second tier.
