Dorking Wanderers have appointed their first chief executive almost 25 years into the National League club's existence.

Local businessman Jonathan Bines has joined on a voluntary basis.

Dorking were founded in 1999 by a group that included former player Marc White, who is the current manager and chairman.

"It's a privilege to be given the opportunity to work with Marc and his team," Bines

"What they have achieved so far - 12 promotions in 24 years [full seasons] - is of course unprecedented and remarkable.

"Daring to dream, being resilient and making it happen would sum up Dorking Wanderers for me.

"This ethos resonates with me entirely and I can't wait to get stuck into being part of the effort to maintain it and to push on to evolve the club further so it is appropriately positioned for even more success."

Dorking are currently second from bottom in their first season in the National League, two points from safety but with a game in hand over those around them.
