Lincoln City have won 15 and drawn 13 of their 38 leagues games so far this season

Boss Michael Skubala has encouraged Lincoln City fans to get excited by the Imps' surge in form, but says he is not letting his players get carried away.

Lincoln's 6-0 thrashing of Cambridge United on Tuesday extended their unbeaten run to 12 games and moved them three points off the play-off spots.

The big win also made it 11 goals in two matches, having beaten promotion chasers Barnsley 5-1 on Saturday.

"We need to keep our feet on the ground," Skubala said.

"Enjoy it as fans and get excited, but for me it's about doing the right thing at the right time, which is going to the next game and trying to win it."

Tuesday's win left them three places behind sixth-placed Stevenage, who have two games in hand over the Imps and can move six point clear of Lincoln if they beat Peterborough on Wednesday.

Skubala, who took over as boss in November when they were ninth and four points off the play-off places, says his side were "ruthless from start to finish" in their latest convincing win.

Jack Moylan contributed four of the 11 goals Lincoln scored in four days, having grabbed a double against Cambridge and at Barnsley, while Joe Taylor's own brace on Tuesday was his third goal in two games.

"We are a tough team to play against and we have a ruthless streak to us," Skubala told 麻豆社 Radio Lincolnshire.

"The mentality of the group is fantastic at the moment.

"But we haven't cracked it. We are putting a marker down that says if anyone slips up, we will be there."
