If you like nuts and honey, baklava, halva orÌýany other Middle Eastern sweetsÌýare unbelievably good .

Anna McNamee triesÌýout the range available, beginning with halva.ÌýIt's most commonly made with sesame seeds, but some people make it with cooked carrots, semolina, potatoes, beetroot or yams. And you can get fruit halvas made with papayas, oranges or bananas too.

The food historian and cookery writer Anissa HelouÌýshowed Anna how to make one of her favourite versions.
