Ìý Multicultural cooking 21 September 2004 Ìý
with Indonesian food writer, Sri Owen

There always seems to be something new-fangled food-wise arriving in Britain - and we, just as quickly seem to absorb new influences and new ingredients and mould them into our diets.

So whether it's Mongolian barbecuing or south west American food or the cuisine of Catalonia, we manage to either kick them out or soak them up.

Simon Parkes has been talking to Indonesian food writer Sri Owen about the dishes that remind her of home, among them a Balinese dish of spiced pork in a banana leaf wrapping.
