Ìý Listeners' Letters: Driving Phobia Wednesday 11 December 2002 Ìý
Last week we brought you the story of Rachel Cooke and her fear of life in the fast lane - well, on the motorway.

Journalist Rachel Cook had passed her driving test in 1989 and was coping quite happily with London's rush-hour traffic. But until last month she'd never once driven on a motorway. Just the thought of it brought her out in a cold sweat.
She's not alone. The fear of driving is a common phobia suffered by thousands of people - particularly women.
We hear some of your responses on why it is so terrifying to get behind the wheel.
