Ìý Irritable Bowel Syndrome Friday 15 March 2002 Ìý
It's estimated that as many as one in three people suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Studies suggest that women outnumber men by three to one.

Despite the high number of sufferers, the cause remains unknown and there is no complete cure. For some, one of the ways of easing the symptoms is by changing diet.
Martha talks to Michelle Berriedale-Johnson and Dr Carole Cooper. They look at the various dietary options available. "Eat to Beat" IBS is published by London: Thorsons/Element March 2002, ISBN0007124139
