The Czech soprano Magdalena Kozena places great importance on performing the music of her homeland, particularly as it is so rarely performed by other singers, with the difficulties of mastering the language.
Her last disc of love songs by Dvorak, Janacek and Martinu won her a Gramophone Award.
Magdalena has gained a reputation for 'filling in' at the last minute, and for playing the principal boy.
She joins Jenni in the studio. New CD released in January: Le Belle Immagini (Deutsche Grammophon, 471 335-2)
