Ìý Nigerian death sentence update Thursday 13 December 2001 Ìý
In October, an Islamic court in Sokoto sentenced a 35 year old mother to death after she was found guilty of adultery.

In the first case of its kind in Nigeria, Safiyati Hussaini faced a possible sentence of death by stoning under the regime's newly introduced Sharia Law.
Last month, Jenni spoke to the Â鶹Éç's correspondent in Nigeria, Dan Isaacs, about the case. He has since visited the condemned woman and joins Jenni again to talk about the possibility of an appeal against Safiyati's conviction, which could save her life.
