Gail Brand has been playing on the London improvising scene since 1994 but has been playing the trombone for 20 years.
She has played in all music genres, from classical to jazz and pop.
She is currently developing a solo trombone work to be performed as part of the Solo with Light series at London's Wapping Hydraulic Power Station.
She talks to Martha about her love for the instrument and performs improvised trombone in the studio.
Gail Brand will be performing her Solo with Light work as part of the Winter Jazz at Wapping event from 1st December to 19th January 2002, 8.30-9.30pm. Entrance is free. Contact the Wapping Project on 020 7680 2080.
