Ìý Ashermans Syndrome Wednesday 21 November 2001 Ìý
If you've been watching the ITV drama Cold Feet you'll know that Rachel and her husband Adam are considering adoption because Rachel has become infertile after an abortion left her with Ashermans syndrome.

In real life Ashermans is an extremely rare complication of abortion and is virtually unknown in the UK.
Jenni is joined by Anne Furedi of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, and Christine Geraghty, Senior Lecturer in Film and TV at Goldsmiths College, London, to discuss whether TV drama should treat difficult issues with absolute realism, or whether a bit of poetic licence helps.
