The chef Gary Rhodes is urging the government to make cooking lessons compulsory for all 5-11 year olds.

Some children have never tasted a home cooked meal in their lives and there is widespread concern about the long term effects of a diet of convenience foods.
Gary Rhodes explains his initiative and Jenni is joined by Anita Cormac, Director of Focus on Food and Fiona Hamilton-Fairley, Head of The Kids Cookery School in Acton, West London, to discuss the need to make cooking part of the national curriculum for every child of school age. You can contact the Kids Cookery School on 0208 992 8882.
