Ìý HIV in teenagers Thursday 25 October 2001 Ìý
For the past few years, the rate of HIV infection has been on the increase amongst young people.

More than 15 years after widespread AIDS awareness began, the statistics are disturbing. They show that the gay population is still the worst hit, but that heterosexual infection is on the increase, and women are catching the virus at greater rates than men.
In schools, there is concern that the emphasis being placed on teenage pregnancies has led to a lack of education on sexually transmitted diseases.
Jennifer Chevalier went to a conference on sex education held by Greenwich Council for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18.
There she met Rebekka Armstrong, an American model who contracted HIV in the mid-80s, and now travels across Britain and America talking to teenagers about the disease.
