Susheela Raman was born in the UK to Southern Indian parents and brought up in Australia.

Her music combines the music of India with sounds from her Western upbringing and celebrates the collision of European, African and Asian musical cultures.
Susheela's debut album, Salt Rain has been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, making her the first distinctly world music artist to make the prestigious list.
She performs live in the studio.
