How has it changed women’s lives?
The Open University was the world's first successful distance teaching university, set up by Jennie Lee, a Minister in the Department of Education and Science under Harold Wilson. It has just celebrated its 40th year, and in that time many people have benefitted from the opportunity to study remotely, women in particular.ÌýJenni takes a look back at howÌýthe OUÌýbegan and the impact it has had onÌýwomen's lives withÌýits former Vice Chancellor Professor Brenda Gourley, and current Head of Sociology Professor Kath Woodward.
