Is making-up confidence-boosting, enjoyable or a demeaning waste of time?

BoldÌýmake-up is back in fashion - think powder, smoky eyes, false eyelashes and of course scarlet diva lips. And it’s not just the young who are indulging. After years of wearing discreet make up, or absolutely none at all, women of all ages are participating in this trend. So what does it mean? With the help of Lisa Armstrong, fashion editor of The Times, and social commentator, Sally Feldman, Jane considers our relationship to make-up through the ages.
