How to play with colour in fashion

Occasionally the uniform fashion scene of little black dresses is broken up by an unexpected splash of colour and pattern, by a woman who dresses against the tide. One such style maverick in the USA is Iris Apfel, an 88 year old who describes herself as a geriatric starlet. A show of her outlandish outfits called Rare Bird of Fashion: the Irreverent Iris Apfel is currently wowing the crowds at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.ÌýÌý Iris Apfel talks about her exhibition of outlandish outfits; andÌýJenni talks toÌýZandra Rhodes, fashion designer; and Oriole Cullen, Curator at the V&A, about how to embrace colour and stand out in a crowd.
