Why are we so anti men in brief style swimwear?

For every man who has ever been horrified to find himself in a European swimming pool where skimpy trunks are mandatory, it is no disappointment to discover they’re now banned from the waterpark at Alton Towers. The theme park said that tight trunks were not appropriate for a ‘family’ environment. But why should public sensibilities be affronted by clothing that outlines male parts? And why do most British men consider brief style swimwear such a no-no? TheÌýTimes columnistÌýDavid Aaronovitch and journalist Stephen Armstrong join Jenni to discuss.
