The Critics Award

The Critics Award for Album of 2001 is run by fRoots magazine. Their long-established fRoots Critics Poll has become the best researched guide to the key world roots albums of the year. A huge panel of well-informed journalists, radio presenters, promoters, record label and dealer staff, musicians and people from all walks of the roots business internationally have been polled.

The winner was announced at the Radio 3 Awards for World Music on 28th January 2002. And the winner is : Baaba Maal: Missing You (Mi Yeewnii). See how all the critics voted at .
