SKORP and Bella Shmurda
Two exciting new voices in African music, Algerian rapper SKORP and Nigeria's Bella Shmurda, get their chance to shine in the TIA spotlight.
This Is Africa brings a double dose of Spotlight goodness, giving two fresh acts a platform to show off their talents to the whole world.
SKORP is an all-round artist who paints as well as raps. He says life in Algeria is like a warzone. Immersing himself in music and art is his escape. TIA gets a worldwide exclusive first play of his new track, Nova, and hears how it was inspired by the death of his 110-year-old grandfather.
Bella Shmurda has just released the second part of his debut EP, High Tension, with a debut album set to drop in 2022. With well over one and a half million followers on Instagram, and with his tracks burning up the airwaves, the 23-year-old is being tipped for great things in Nigeria.
