¶Ù’B²¹²ÔÂá, the self-styled Koko Master, is a huge personality with a string of hits and awards, and the man many credit for having launched Afrobeats onto the global stage. His 2012 song Oliver Twist, under Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. label, brought him international fame, and opened the door to the US for other African artists.

In 2018 ¶Ù’B²¹²ÔÂá suffered a horrendous personal tragedy: his one-year-old son drowned in the family’s swimming pool.

In this programme, he tells Edu how he has coped, by keeping his focus on the future, on his 'restoration’, and on being a role model for others.

Our spotlight this week falls on Uganda, and a female artist who is making waves in electronic music. DJ Kampire is one of the brains behind Uganda’s Nyege Nyege festival, set up in 2015 and celebrating Africa’s electronic underground.

Her music is highly eclectic and she enjoys sampling the tunes her parents and grandparents used to listen to.

As usual, Edu will be ranging across the continent in his 10 in 10, and playing bangers from Botswana, Zambia and Malawi, amongst others.
