Simi, Joeboy and Sheebah in Lagos

DJ Edu celebrates the sounds of young Africa with a special show in Lagos, featuring performances from Simi, Joeboy and Sheebah, plus a soundclash with Nigerian DJ Xclusive.

DJ Edu, the Afroboss, long-time African music ambassador, launches a brand new programme for 麻豆社 World Service.

This Is Africa is dedicated to celebrating the sounds of young Africa. The time is right, with the new generation of Afrobeats artists in high demand around the world, collaborating with megastars like Beyonce, and being nominated for a Grammy in the case of Burna Boy.

There was only one place to launch This Is Africa: Lagos, Nigeria, birthplace of Afrobeats and home to so much of the music fanning out across the continent.

In this first edition, DJ Edu hosts a celebrity-packed party, with performances from Simi, one of Nigeria's best loved songstresses, and Joeboy, who burst onto the scene just a few months ago but already has two banging tracks to his name.

Also starring on the show is Sheebah, Uganda's most popular female artist of the moment, making her first visit to Nigeria.

DJ Edu kicks things off by challenging Nigerian DJ Xclusive to a soundclash. Spoiler alert: The winner is鈥� Africa!
