The Judgement on Mladic
Mark Urban returns to Bosnia to examine the impact Serb General Ratko Mladic had on the lives of thousands of people.
For some he鈥檚 known as the 鈥淏east of Bosnia.鈥 For others, he鈥檚 a war hero. Ratko Mladic was commander of Serb forces during the Bosnian war of the 1990s 鈥 a war which became notorious for extraordinary cruelty and for crimes against humanity. General Mladic has been on trial at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, in the Hague, over the last six years. He now awaits imminent judgement on the most serious catalogue of crimes of the entire war, including genocide, forcible deportation and murder. For Assignment, Mark Urban, who reported on the Bosnian war 25 years ago, returns to Bosnia to examine the impact Mladic had on the lives of thousands of people.
