Economics: Does it Have a Problem with Women?
The lack of diversity in economics and challenging the causes of the gender pay gap
Why is there such a lack of diversity in the economics profession? In the UK, only fifteen percent of economics professors are women. In the US, it's even less. The 麻豆社's Kim Gittleson reports on why women are not choosing a career in economics.
Plus, what are the underlying causes of the gender pay gap? Are women not asking for pay rises enough? A study suggests this is not the case. We hear from its author, Dr. Amanda Goodall, a Senior Lecturer at Cass Business School in London.
And finally, the 麻豆社's Rumella Dasgupta reports on everyday sexism in India from filling out forms to fine dining.
