Richard Corrigan
Richard started out at the young age of 14, working as a trainee chef in a hotel local to his hometown in Ireland. After a few years spent in Holland, he returned to London to work in Mayfair and later went on to win his first Michelin star in 1994 working as Head Chef for Stephen Bull.
Growing up on a farm in the Irish midlands inspired Richard鈥檚 passion for food and at the age of 17 he travelled to the Netherlands where he spent several years working in a variety of Michelin-starred establishments.
On return to London in 1985, Richard worked under Michel Lorrain at the Meridian Hotel in Piccadilly and later moved on to become head chef for Stephen Bull at his Fulham restaurant where he won his first Michelin star.
Richard went on to open Lindsay House in Soho where he gained critical acclaim and won a Michelin star in 1997.
In 2005, Richard refurbished the well-established London fish restaurant, Bentley鈥檚 and continued his streak by opening Corrigan鈥檚 Mayfair in 2008, which was awarded London Restaurant of the Year 2008/2009 by the Evening Standard and gained there AA Rosettes within the first three months. In October 2009, Corrigan鈥檚 Mayfair was awarded AA London Restaurant of the Year, and gained the highest new entry in the National Restaurant Awards.
Richard has since opened a branch of Bentley鈥檚 at Harrods in London and is a regular veteran on the Great British Menu series, having won the competition three times.
