Jonathan studied Fine Art & Chattels Valuation before working in Edinburgh at Philips Auctioneers as a furniture porter, where he learnt a great deal... particularly how hard it is to move a mahogany sideboard up three floors on your own! A move to Phillips in Guildford, a stint at a London valuation company, and a spell at Dreweatt-Neate Auctioneers followed, before he joined Sotheby’s Sussex in 2002. Never one to let a fantastic opportunity slip by, Jonathan became MD of Bellmans in 2005 and - alongside regular appearances on 麻豆社’s Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Flog It – is more passionate about the antiques world than he’s ever been.

...when up early enough he loves to run with the family鈥檚 motley crew of canines in the Hampshire countryside.

Most Memorable Moment: Jonathan once stopped a client from throwing a carpet in a skip – and subsequently sold it for £8,500.
