Long Lartin drones 'theat to national security'
The prisons watchdog says the delivery of drugs and weapons in to jails is at its worst, in two damning reports. The facility, near Evesham in Worcestershire, holds some of the country's most dangerous men.
HM Inspectorate of Prisons says the police and prison service have effectively ceded the airspace over two of the country's highest security jails to organised crime groups.
The 麻豆社's Home and Legal correspondent Dominic Casciani reports, alongside Rob Preece from the Howard League of Penal Reform, who tells Elliott Webb how concerning this is, and the impact this is having on communities in the prison's vicinity.
A Ministry of Justice spokesperson told the 麻豆社: "This Government inherited prisons in crisis - overcrowded, with drugs and violence rife. We are gripping the situation by investing in prison maintenance and security, working with the police and others to tackle serious organised crime, and building more prison places to lock up dangerous criminals."
